Our luxury log cabin is situated in a bird sanctuary on the outskirts of Stanford overlooking the Klein River. The cabin is raised on stilts allowing for one of a kind view of beautiful wetlands, mountain ranges and natural surroundings. As rainfall throughout the year isn't consistent the water levels change at will.

The uniqueness of the farm is the wetlands in front of the cabin and the 160 hectares of uninterrupted fynbos with views for days at the back, a true nature retreat. Boarded by Cape Nature Walker Bay that covers over 17km of shoreline. The white Sandy beaches interspersed with rocky limestone outcrops makes it a beautiful coastal spot for filming. Beach access within 5km from log cabin. Just 30 minutes from the sea-side town of Hermanus, Stanford is ideally positioned for couples and families looking for a laid-back getaway. The house is ideal for 4 adults and 4 children and with prior arrangement a bigger group are welcome to pitch tents next to the house at an additional rate per person. The whole property is run off renewable energy and borehole water so please make prior arrangements for bigger groups. Eco Camping is also permitted with prior approval. A most awesome location, one can sit all day on the patio and stare at the mountains

Amazing location with a stunning view of the mountains. It is quiet and peaceful - a proper getaway from the city where you can just enjoy nature and fresh air. We also saw some of the most spectacular sunsets from the deck. Having canoes available to paddle up and down the still river at sunset was also a big plus!

Log cabin with everything you need! Was there in dry season so unfortunately no water close to the cabin. Wonderful beaches close by. Kitchen and rooms have everything you need - you don't have to bring a thing. Think it will be a bit tight for more than 4 adults as the 3rd room has 4 bunkbeds (will suit younger kids just fine). We were a bit disappointed in the basic braai facilities. Otherwise had a wonderful stay. Simba and Rachel (farm managers) were always on hand to help whenever we needed.

A most awesome location, one can sit all day on the patio and stare at the mountains and birdlife (if you are lucky enough like we were you will hear the fish eagle!). Lots to do in the area, or just laze about. A nice touch is the canoes and the paddle boat, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. The kitchen is well equipped and the cabin is spacious and well-designed. A superb find that we will return to!

The house and its location “lost and safe” in the beautiful nature (river and mountain) were perfect. The hosts have been very reactive and kind with us.(Previous host - Daniel) The surroundings are just fantastic and we also loved Stanford. Tons of activities for all tastes around. Great great stay with our three boys, 2 of them teenagers. Definitely recommend, quite unique.

An amazing little gem just outside of Hermanus. Simba, the caretaker ensured that we were as comfortable as possible. It feels like you have your own private lake (we enjoyed the peddle-boat, and the kids loved watching the fish eagles swoop down, whenever the fish leaped above the water. It was lovely to be in a space where the kids could enjoy playing till late, climbing, running and cycling while we sat on the deck, chilling in the lounge chairs.

This place has beautiful views and I can recommended it for a romantic weekend. The canoe and paddle boat are also available to use which are great fun. The house is well equipped with all you could need but maybe bring your hot water bottles for a winter evening. Also the manager Simba was lovely with our 4 year old son and was at hand if we needed anything.

The place has outstanding views on the river, a large group of flamingos sometimes visits for breakfast and dinner. It is spacious and Simba is always nearby, if needed. He makes you felt 100 per cent safe every minute of our stay. It is a perfect spot to benefit of the outstanding surroundings, like Hermanus or Walker Bay Nature Reserve or Springfontein with its splendid restaurant/wine bar/gin lounge just a kilometer down the road. The place is located in the middle of the Woods, so please be ready to encounter the occasional small spider or bug - nothing harmful though.
